Application:
Proper application of the Halo is important for immobilization and patient comfort. The two-piece design consists of a occipital support and a VelStretch strap which are packaged as a set.

Always maintain the patient's head in neutral alignment. These directions are guidelines only; follow a qualified healthcare provider's instructions.
1.
Slide the plastic reinforcement of the Collar BACK piece through the top of the Halo occipital support slots.

Slide the pieces together until they are in alignment.
2.
After the Halo and Collar are in alignment, snap the pieces together until they are securely fastened.
3.

After properly applying the Collar, wrap the Velstretch strap around the patient's head. Position the Velstretch material on the center of forehead.

4. Pull both straps simultaneously and with equal pressure toward the Halo occipital support. Slide straps through the buckels and fasten the straps.

5. Verify that all components are centered on the patient and the patient is in neutral alignment.

Removal:
Before removing the Halo and Collar, mark the position of the Velcro strap location to ensure re-application maintains the proper fit.

With the Halo and Collar secured on the patient, loosen the Halo strap on the RIGHT side and then on the LEFT side. To remove the Collar, unfasten the Velcro strap on the RIGHT side and then the LEFT side. Remove Halo and Collar from the patient.
